The Archdiocese of Washington’s Office for Cultural Diversity and Outreach will host a movie screening, discussion and liturgy to celebrate the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Saturday Jan. 13 at St. Joseph Parish in Largo.

The event will begin in the parish’s Rosemont Room at 1:30 p.m. with a screening of  “13th,” a Netflix documentary by Ava DuVernay that explores the intersection of race, justice and mass incarceration in the United States.

There will be a discussion of the film at 3:30 p.m., followed by praise and worship by the Archdiocese of Washington Gospel Mass Choir. At 5 p.m., Washington Auxiliary Bishop Roy Campbell Jr. will celebrate a Vigil Mass.
